2005 Reno Air Race pit area looks like this from atop a trailer. Nothing too exciting. But you can see what it looks like from the comfort of your conversion.

From front to back, are the different classes:

1. Jets, L39
2. Unlimiteds, Mustangs, Sea Furys, Bearcats, Yaks...
3. T-6
4. inside the hanger is some of the Sport Class.
5. hanger to the left, out of sight is for the Formula and the BiPlane Class.

The track looks like this:

BravestDog,

Brings back some good old memories. In the late 70s I was part of the pit crew for a friend's Formula 1 racer. He had a modified Cassutt (homebuilt single seat airplane powered by a Continental O-200). He took 3rd. place that year and because they must conform to a formula, the top 3 winners were met on the runway as they landed and their planes were taken away to be inspected. A few hours later his plane was returned to him with his engine dissambled in a box!

I could be wrong but I seam to remember Dago Red being there, I think it had a big V-12 (Merlin?) with counter-rotating props.

You have never experianced real power until you experiance the sound coming from the short stacks of the big Allisons, Merlins, Pratt and Whitneys, etc.
